Project Overview
TLEC Engineering carried out the log boom installation works at Vajiralongkorn Dam, operated by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
The project was awarded through a competitive bidding process and executed strictly in accordance with EGAT’s approved design drawings and technical specifications. TLEC Engineering was responsible for construction and installation works in full compliance with the issued standards.
A major technical challenge of this project was rock drilling at steep cliff surfaces for the installation of rock bolts. The drilling rig had to be mobilized and operated on a floating platform, requiring precise alignment, platform stabilization, and strict safety control due to limited working space and proximity to the waterline.
Additionally, underwater diving operations were required to replace submerged sling components. These works demanded experienced divers, careful coordination, and adherence to rigorous safety procedures under low-visibility underwater conditions.
The log boom system was installed at two locations: the Main Dam area and the Downstream area.
